This is the ice harpy boss in Storm Legion. Concept by Herman Ng. I think this is the only female character I've made for Rift that's in the game!

Maya, Zbrush, 3dCoat, Bodypaint, Xnormal, Photoshop, etc. Real time renders in Marmoset Toolbag.

What a gorgeous model! Any chance the player models will get an update any time in the future to match this kind of detail?

Although I wouldn't discount any possibility of some kind of improvements, updating the player models significantly is unlikely. It's a very rare thing to do in MMO games because it ends up being a massive undertaking to update all of the models and armor, and make sure that it still works with the animations, etc. Not only that, but some players may prefer the original models. I remember some players became very agitated just with us changing the highlights on the hair!

Very true, I suppose. But I think everyone would definitely appreciate some more hair styles added at least. :D

But, I'll stop being a naggy bratt. Gorgeous art all around, keep up the great work for Rift! :D

Thanks. Yea, unfortunately the process for making 3d game art seems to get more complex all the time. I wish I didn't have to use so much software.
